Manchester United’s summer signing Sekou Kone has been tipped to make his breakthrough into the senior team before the season concludes.

With three Premier League games left, and with the Europa League final coming up in 12 days, Ruben Amorim is bound to ring in the changes, and the Malian could be set for a debut before the season concludes.

He has impressed for the U21s, playing both in a deeper position while being tried out in an advanced role recently.

The Peoples Person had relayed that the midfielder was on course to be loaned out in the summer, with a move to a European club likely. But Givemesport have something else to say on this matter.

Kone to be included in first-team squad

Journalist Dean Jones has revealed that figures within the club are very excited with Kone’s potential and Amorim is likely to include him in the first-team squad for next season.

“GMS sources have been told that fellow teenager Sekou Kone will be in the first-team picture at Manchester United heading into next season, thanks to influential figures behind the scenes having a lot of excitement about what he could bring to the midfield if given the opportunity by Amorim.

“Manchester United have been eager to give Kone time to adapt to his surroundings instead of throwing him into the senior squad, despite being highly-rated.

“And GMS sources understand that he is on course to be handed his debut next season as the focus on embedding young talent is continuing.”

United have been patient with him

United have been extremely patient with the 19-year-old but believe he is the perfect fit for Amorim’s vision in midfield.

Coaches at Carrington even feel his skillset is similar to that of ex-United star Paul Pogba with Kone considered a better fit for Amorim’s system than Collyer, who has already earned plenty of minutes under the ex-Sporting CP boss.

Kone has two goals and one assist for the U21s this season and has been part of the senior matchday squad on three occasions in the Premier League.

United had to stave off competition from Ajax and Barcelona to land the Malian last summer.
