In a recent report, journalist Mark Brus revealed that Manchester United are big admirers of Al-Hilal midfielder Ruben Neves. It has been stated that the Red Devils are eyeing a move to acquire the services of the Portuguese midfield ace this January.
The 28-year-old is having a decent campaign at the Saudi club as he has already produced a run of impressive performances for them in the middle of the park. Neves has scored two times and earned two assists in eight appearances for Al-Hilal this season across all competitions.
The Portuguese talent has got a wealth of experience in the Premier League from his time at Wolverhampton Wanderers and won’t take much time to adjust to life at Man United.
His current contract at the Saudi club will run out at the end of this campaign. Hence, the Red Devils could potentially sign him on a cut-price deal this January or on a free transfer next summer.

Neves is a good tackler of the ball and can time his challenges well to earn the ball back for his team inside his half. He usually clears his lines when the opposition are on the offensive and is a good passer of the ball as well.
The Portuguese talent has got the vision to create some inviting chances for his teammates up top and can strike the ball with venom from long range. He mainly plays as a holding midfielder but can also operate as a box-to-box midfielder if needed.
We can expect Neves to bring more quality and depth to Man United boss Ruben Amorim’s midfield. He is more than capable of nailing down a regular starting place at Old Trafford.
Furthermore, the Portugal international would serve as an ideal replacement for Casemiro, who has struggled to be consistent during his time at the Mancunian club. At 28, Neves is still playing in his prime and could help the Red Devils challenge across all fronts in the coming seasons. Therefore, Amorim should focus on going all out to snap him up next year.
