In a recent report, Gazzetta dello Sport claimed that Manchester United are facing competition from Chelsea for Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic. It has been stated that the Red Devils are in the running to acquire the services of the Serbian striker next year.

Vlahovic’s Impressive Form In Serie A This Season

Vlahovic has made an excellent start to this campaign after producing a few productive displays for the Turin giants in the final third. The 25-year-old has banged in six goals and grabbed one assist in nine matches for Juventus last season across all competitions.

The Serbian talent has led the line well for the Italian giants as he is averaging 3.15 shots per 90 minutes in Serie A. He has kept 42.9% of his attempts on target. However, Vlahovic needs to improve his ball distribution based on his pass completion rate of 60% in top-flight football (stats via fbref.com).

His current contract at the Allianz Stadium will run out at the end of this campaign, which could open the door for Man United to come to a pre-contract agreement with him this January.

Vlahovic is proficient at finding a yard of space for himself to get a few strikes in at goal. He has got the vision to create some inviting chances in the final third and is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet.

The Serbian talent can be a prolific goal-getter up top when he is playing with confidence on the pitch. However, there are some concerns over whether he can maintain his good form in the Premier League if the Red Devils manage to secure his services next year.

We can expect Vlahovic to bring more firepower to Man United head coach Ruben Amorim’s frontline. He is more than capable of earning a regular starting spot at Old Trafford in the coming years.

At 25, Vlahovic has his best years ahead of him, which makes him a worthy target for the Red Devils to pursue this January or at the end of this campaign.
