In a recent report, journalist Christian Falk stated that Manchester United are hoping to land Bayern Munich defender Kim Min-jae this summer. It has been claimed that the Red Devils have identified the South Korea international as a target for this transfer window.
Min-jae enjoyed a solid campaign at the Bavarian club as he put in a string of impressive displays for them on the defensive end of the pitch. The 29-year-old registered one goal and grabbed one assist in 37 matches for his current employers last season in all competitions.
The South Korea international is currently among the best centre-backs in the Bundesliga. Hence, it is no surprise that Man United are keen on recruiting him later this year.
His current contract at the Allianz Arena will expire in the summer of 2028, which could make it difficult for the Red Devils to sign him on the cheap this off-season.

Min-jae loves a tackle and can time his challenges well to earn possession back for his team inside his half. He doesn’t mind clearing the danger when required and is an accurate passer as well.
The South Korea international can use his strong 1.90m frame to win a few 50-50 aerial duels for his team. However, there are some concerns over whether he can cope with the high intensity of Premier League football if the Red Devils manage to secure his services later this year.
We can expect Min-jae to add more bite and steel to Man United boss Michael Carrick’s backline. He is good enough to fight for a regular starting place at Old Trafford in the coming years.
At 29, Min-jae is playing in his prime, which makes him a good choice for the Red Devils to pursue in this transfer window. However, Carrick has to give him some time to adjust to life in England before he can get the best out of the player. Still, Min-jae has got the experience to help Man United compete across all fronts in the future. Hence, Carrick should focus on getting him on board before the end of this summer transfer window.
