In a recent report, Bild stated that Manchester United are hoping to land Borussia Dortmund midfielder Felix Nmecha. It has been mentioned that the Red Devils would have to compete with Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign the German talent this year.
Nmecha is having a decent campaign at the German club as he has put in a series of solid performances for them in the Bundesliga. The 25-year-old has found the back of the net five times and earned three assists in 28 matches for Borussia Dortmund this season in all competitions.
The German midfield ace has proven his worth in the middle of the park by averaging 0.95 shots per 90 minutes in the Bundesliga. He has kept 28.6% of his attempts on target (stats via fbref.com).
His current contract at Signal Iduna Park will run out in the summer of 2028. Hence, it won’t be easy for Man United to sign him on a cut-price deal this year.

Nmecha is a solid tackler of the ball and can make the odd interception for his team inside his half. He usually clears the danger when required and can contribute by scoring and creating a few important goals for his side from midfield.
Standing at 1.90m, the German sensation is a strong presence in the air and is a good passer of the ball as well. Nmecha is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also fill in as a holding midfielder or as an attacking midfielder if asked to do so by his manager. However, there are some concerns over whether he can cope with the high intensity of the Premier League if the Red Devils manage to get him on board this year.
Nmecha would add more quality and depth to Man United boss Michael Carrick’s midfield department. He is good enough to challenge for a regular first-team spot at the Mancunian club in the coming years.
At 25, Nmecha has his peak years ahead of him, which makes him a decent choice for Man United to pursue in the long run. Thus, Carrick would be wise to focus his attention on acquiring the German midfielder’s services soon.
