Manchester United Are In The Running To Land This Serie A Defender: Should Carrick Go For Him? | OneFootball

In a recent report, journalist Mark Brus claimed that Manchester United are in the running to land Como defender Jacobo Ramon. It has been mentioned that the Red Devils would have to compete with Arsenal and Chelsea in the race to land the Spanish centre-back next year.

Ramon’s Impressive Form In The Premier League

Ramon has enjoyed a decent run of form at the Italian club in this campaign so far as he has put in a handful of impressive displays for them in Serie A. The 21-year-old has found the back of the net once in six appearances for Como this season in all competitions.

The Spanish talent is currently one of the most talented centre-backs in Serie A. Hence, it is no wonder that the Red Devils are planning to get a deal done for him next year.

His current deal at Como will run out in the summer of 2030, which could make it tough for Man United to land him on the cheap this winter or at the end of this campaign.

Should Manchester United Boss Michael Carrick Go For Ramon?

Ramon loves a tackle and can scan the danger well to earn possession back for his team inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when the opposition are on the offensive and excels at playing his way out from the back.

The Spanish sensation can even use his strong 1.96m frame to win a few 50-50 aerial duels for his team. Ramon has proven himself to be a consistent performer in Serie A. However, there are some concerns on whether he can make a smooth transition to life in the Premier League if the Red Devils manage to snap him up in 2027.

We can expect Ramon to enhance the quality of Man United head coach Michael Carrick’s defence. He has what it takes to fight for a regular first-team spot at Old Trafford.

At 21, the future looks quite promising for Ramon as long as he continues to improve with each year. He is undoubtedly a prospect to watch out for in the long run, so Man United would be wise to go for a defender with his skill set next year.
