Premier League club Manchester United are interested in signing Real Madrid defender Nacho in the summer transfer window, according to Fichajes. The English side want to add the experienced campaigner to their ranks to bolster the depth in the defensive unit.

Nacho is a Real Madrid legend

Nacho joined Real Madrid at the age of just 11 and has been associated with them since then. His impressive performances at the youth level rewarded him with a senior team debut. He continued his displays and emerged as one of the most valuable players for the club.

The Spanish defender has been an integral part of the squad over the past decade. He is a Real Madrid legend and has been a great servant. However, one can’t deny that he has passed his peak and is in the twilight of his career.

Despite that fact, Nacho continues to impress everyone whenever he takes on the field. Even in the recent game against Manchester City, he was commendable in the backline. He has featured in 36 games this season for the Whites.

Will Nacho move to the English league?

Nacho has expressed his desire to leave Real Madrid at the end of the season despite the club preparing to offer him a new contract. Smelling an opportunity, Manchester United are looking to capitalize on the situation and lure away the defender.

There is uncertainty over the continuation of the likes of Raphael Varane, Jonny Evans, Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof at Old Trafford. Hence, the English club are desperate to reinforce the defensive section ahead of the next season.

The arrival of Nacho could prove to be a good move. He is an experienced guy and can have an instant impact on the performance of the side. However, it remains to be seen if the defender is willing to move to the English league at this stage of his career or not.
