In a recent report, Sky Sports mentioned that Manchester United are keeping tabs on AS Roma midfielder Manu Kone. It has been stated that the Red Devils have identified the French talent as a target for this summer transfer window.

Kone’s Solid Campaign In Serie A

Kone enjoyed a decent run of form at the Italian club after he put in a series of impressive displays for them at the centre of the park. The 25-year-old scored two times and secured three assists in 37 appearances for AS Roma last season in multiple competitions.

The French talent is currently one of the best central midfielders in Serie A. Hence, the Red Devils would do well to lure him to Old Trafford in this transfer window.

His current contract at the Italian club will expire in the summer of 2029, which could make it difficult for Man United to sign him on a cut-price fee this off-season.

Should Manchester United Boss Michael Carrick Move In For Kone?

Kone loves a tackle and can scan the danger well to secure possession back for his team inside his half. He doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when the opposition are on the offensive and is a tidy distributor as well.

The French sensation is full of energy and running at the centre of the park. Kone can even chip in by scoring and creating the odd goal for his side from midfield. However, there are some question marks over whether he can adapt to the physicality and high intensity of the Premier League if the Red Devils manage to land him later this year.

We can expect Kone to add more quality and depth to Man United boss Michael Carrick’s midfield. He is good enough to challenge for a regular starting spot at Old Trafford next season.

At 25, Kone has his peak years ahead of him, which makes him a decent option for the Red Devils to pursue this summer. However, Carrick would have to give him some time to adjust to life at the Theatre of Dreams. Still, Man United should focus on moving in for Kone before the end of this transfer period.
