The latest report from Spanish outlet Fichajes said that the Red Devils are ready to spend €50 million to sign Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford in the ongoing transfer window. However, the Bees would want more money than what United are offering and might not even agree to sell him mid-season.

Bryan Mbeumo has been the main man for Brentford

Brentford fans were in disarray when they lost Ivan Toney from the club in the last summer transfer window. He was the main man for the club and was carrying his clubs. Toney was also a fan favourite. However, Bryan Mbeumo stepped up, put on stunning performances, and became the central figure of the team this season.

The attacker has already scored 13 goals in the ongoing Premier League season. He displayed his spark very early in the season, and many high-profile clubs were already attracted to him. Liverpool were ready to sign him, as they were thinking of him as the man who could replace their prolific winger Mohamed Salah.

Newcastle United were also interested in him, but the Red Devils will be the first club to table an official offer for the player. They are ready to pay €50 million for Mbeumo and check how Brentford responds to the offer. However, it is unclear whether the Bees will accept that offer, but it will definitely show that United are seriously interested in the attacker.

Manchester United desperately needs good attackers and have previously shown interest in Victor Osimhen. They are also linked to Viktor Gyokeres, but the links with Mbeumo would be of interest for the fans as he has already proven his class and talent in England.

Will Manchester United get him in January?

The Bees are not in any sort of hurry to sell him in the ongoing January transfer window. The player is their central figure this season and also has a contract with the club till 2026. Moreover, Brentford could also trigger a one-year extension if the player’s valuation increases by that time.

Manchester United do need a world-class attacker who can score goals consistently but doesn’t need a specialised right-winger. Amad Diallo has been breathtaking in that position for the club this season. So, it is quite surprising that the Red Devils want to sign Mbeumo. They have other areas to strengthen, like the left-back or the midfield.
