Real Madrid’s ongoing slump had players from across the globe offering their services to the club in the January transfer market, hoping to serve as the spark that gets them back on track.
One such player who was rumoured to have offered his services to Real Madrid was Bruno Fernandes, Manchester United’s star midfielder and captain.
As relayed earlier this week, it was Real Madrid who turned down the chance to sign the Portuguese international given their stance of not making any recruitments in the winter, but Fabrizio Romano now confirms that the news was completely fabricated.
As confirmed by the Italian journalist, the story of Bruno Fernandes offering himself to Real Madrid is 100% fake, for the player made no such move.
He is happy and content with his role and the project at Old Trafford and would not offer himself to any club at this point, not even Real Madrid.

In fact, the Portuguese star already has many clubs interested in him including parties from Saudi Arabia and top European clubs, so he can virtually move anywhere he wants. Talks of him going out of his way to offer himself are thus fake.
It is no secret that Real Madrid see an urgent need for a leading midfield presence who can not only deliver with numbers but also serve as a uniting force for the side. Fernandes, on that front, seemed like the perfect candidate.
Now, however, it is clear that the update was fabricated and it remains to be seen if any links pop up in the summer once more.
As it stands, Los Blancos are looking to sign a midfielder in the summer with names like Vitinha and Kees Smit being linked with the Spanish capital.
