Manchester United have completed the signing of Bayern Munich full-back Noussair Mazraoui a fee of £17m (€20m).
The 26-year-old has signed a four-year contract at Old Trafford with the option for a fifth, and becomes the latest former Ajax player to join the club.
Mazraoui spent four seasons working under Erik ten Hag from 2018 to 2022 before departing for Bayern on a free transfer.
In his two seasons in Bavaria, Mazraoui made 55 appearances, scoring once and winning the 2022/23 Bundesliga title.
The Morocco international, who starred in his country’s run to the World Cup semi-final in 2022, can play on both sides, meaning he will provide cover and competition to Diogo Dalot, Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia among others.
“It’s an incredible feeling to be a Manchester United player, and I cannot wait to walk out at Old Trafford wearing the red shirt. I know that I’m joining the club at an exciting time; everyone I’ve spoken to has the same ambition for us to win trophies together and I can feel the determination to achieve that,” he explained.
Mazraoui becomes United’s fourth signing of the summer following the arrivals of Leny Yoro, Joshua Zirkzee and Matthijs de Ligt.
