Manchester United are interested in acquiring the services of AC Milan winger Rafael Leao and could spend around €100 million to sign him.

Things have finally started to click for Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United as they have recorded three straight wins in the Premier League. While the Portuguese manager certainly deserves a lot of credit, the big-money summer signings have certainly helped their cause.

The Red Devils spent a fortune to reinforce their attack by signing Benjamin Sesko, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo. However, they are still looking to add more quality in the final third. According to a report from Fichajes, Manchester United are keen on signing Rafael Leao.

Rafael Leao on Manchester United’s wishlist

The Portuguese international’s consistent performances for AC Milan have placed him on the Premier League giants’ radar. They see him as a potential marquee signing and could spend around €100 million to bring him to Old Trafford.

Leao has only gone from strength to strength since joining the Italian giants back in 2019. The Portuguese international has made quite a name for himself with his exceptional pace, dribbling and goal-scoring prowess. These are qualities that people at Manchester United admire.

While they have spent a significant amount on revamping their attack, the Red Devils do not have enough depth in the final third. With Rasmus Hojlund, Marcus Rashford, and Jadon Sancho also expected to secure a permanent move away in the future, Amorim’s team do not need more options in the final third.

However, with his contract running until 2028 and AC Milan reluctant to let go of one of their best players, Manchester United won’t find it easy to prise him away. A potential €100 million offer can certainly make things interesting, but the Premier League will raise funds to afford the 26-year-old. More importantly, the player’s desire will play a big part in any potential transfer.
