Manchester United will lure a Paris Saint-Germain club chief to Old Trafford as the Premier League side’s changes continue under new minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

Ratcliffe already has one former PSG executive with the club, Jean-Claude Blanc, but now the Red Devils want someone who can aid them with their financial growth and commercial strategies.

Reports from L’Équipe and Le Parisien reveal that Marc Armstrong, PSG’s general director of revenues, will step down from his role at the club in the coming weeks.

Armstrong, who came to PSG in April 2018 after a successful run in the NBA, has played a key role in driving the French champions’ financial and commercial success.

While at PSG, his primary focus was growing the club’s sponsorship deals and boosting revenue, but it’s uncertain whether he’d have the same job at Manchester United. Armstrong’s specific role at Old Trafford is yet to be confirmed, as no official agreement has been reached regarding his appointment.

Armstrong’s exit from PSG is reportedly due to personal reasons, and the Ligue 1 side have been aware of his plans for several weeks. As a result, PSG are expected to announce his replacement soon, though no names have been confirmed yet.

His exit marks a major shift for the club, which has seen significant growth in commercial revenue under his leadership.
