Manchester United are interested in signing Bayer Leverkusen striker Patrick Schick, according to journalist Patrick Berger.
The Red Devils are 14th in the Premier League with only 38 points. They have suffered 14 losses.
One of their primary problems is their attack. Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee have both struggled for consistency in front of goal.
United have been linked with several strikers, including Victor Osimhen, Viktor Gyokeres and Liam Delap.
Despite aiming to sign a younger forward, the club is also considering Schick as a serious option. The Czech international is on a shortlist of names being studied by United.
Contact has already been made between United and Leverkusen, but nothing concrete has developed to date.
The 29-year-old has bagged 23 goals and one assist in all competitions this season.
Schick played a big part in Leverkusen’s unbeaten run to the Bundesliga title and helped the team win the DFB Pokal last term.
He rose to global attention during the 2020 European Championship. Schick scored five goals and won the Silver Boot. He lost out on the main prize to Cristiano Ronaldo by one assist.
Leverkusen value the striker at around €30 million. He is currently under contract until 2027.
The Czech forward has received offers from Saudi Pro League clubs. However, he is not considering a move to the Middle East.
The Premier League is his preferred destination, and he is open to a move this summer.
