Manchester United are keeping tabs on Tottenham Hotspur defender Pedro Porro ahead of the next transfer window, according to Spanish outlet AS.
The 25-year-old played under new Red Devils manager Ruben Amorim at Sporting CP, and they have had a solid relationship for a while.
Man United are expected to play a 3-4-3 formation under their new boss, and Porro excelled as a right wing-back in the Portuguese top-flight under Amorim.
A reunion could now be on the cards, but the Old Trafford club will face competition from Real Madrid and Manchester City for the Tottenham star.
Spurs want €70 million from suitors for the Spain international, which could see Man United think twice before making a final decision.
They are not short of options on the right flank at the moment, with Diogo Dalot, Noussair Mazraoui, Alejandro Garnacho and Antony all available to feature there.
Porro ended last term with seven assists and four goals in 37 games across all competitions and was involved in 20 goals in 43 appearances in 2022-23.
His defensive and attacking qualities could come in handy at Man United, but strengthening their options in his position is not a top priority right now, and they could prefer to splash the cash on a striker instead.
They need to make key sales and generate funds if they want to sign players in January or next summer, given the need to comply with the Profitability and Sustainability rules.
While a reunion between the Spurs star and Amorim will be great, they are not in desperate need of reinforcements on the right side of the pitch and will be smart to concentrate their transfer efforts elsewhere.
