Manchester United are set to face competition from Arsenal for the signature of Rosenborg midfielder Sverre Nypan.
The teenage midfielder has emerged as one of the brightest young talents in Norwegian football and is almost certain to leave Rosenborg in the near future.
He impressed against Manchester United in pre-season and the Red Devils have been interested in taking him to England.
They are believed to be setting up a deal for a move in January but it has been claimed Manchester United are facing Premier League competition.
According to German outlet Fussball.news, Arsenal have joined the chase for the signature of Nypan in the near future.
The Gunners are trying to sell a move to the Emirates to the midfielder and his entourage while using Martin Odegaard as an example.
Arsenal are pushing hard but Manchester United still have the advantage in the race for the teenager.
Nypan and his father are big Manchester United fans and the club remain the most popular Premier League team in Norway.
The teenager has already claimed that a move to Old Trafford would be a dream come true for him.
