Manchester United supporters launched the hashtags #GlazersAndIneosOut and #BoycottUnited on Tuesday, using social media to protest poor results and the club’s leadership. The club is again on the brink of crisis.

According to L'Équipe, United are enduring their worst start since 2014-15, having gone out in the third round of the League Cup and taken five points from five matches.

The campaign goes beyond posts, with fans urging a boycott of club merchandise, companies owned by Ineos, also the owner of OGC Nice, and the club’s main sponsors such as Adidas and Coca-Cola.

The Glazer family have run United for more than 20 years following Malcolm Glazer’s takeover. He died in 2014. Joel and Avram, who, like four other siblings, each hold about 15% of the club and play a role in sporting decisions, are under heavy criticism.

Since Ineos acquired a 25% stake in 2023, Sir Jim Ratcliffe has not won unanimous backing either.
