Alejandro Balde is currently one of the Barcelona players sidelined due to an injury, having recently picked up a hamstring knock.

However, that hasn’t stopped clubs from potentially eyeing a move for the talented fullback in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Manchester United have emerged as one of the clubs interested in his services, with the club keen on shoring up their ranks in the fullback department.

Man United yet to make a move

Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, though, has clarified that Manchester United have yet to begin negotiations with Barcelona surrounding a potential move for Balde.

Although the Premier League giants were interested in Balde at some point, it appears the club have made not made a move just yet.

Perhaps more importantly, Barcelona have no desire to offload the Spanish international and are unlikely to entertain any offers.

Barcelona believe Balde still has immense potential to become one of the best fullbacks in the world, despite struggling with a bit of consistency this season.

Balde, for his part, also believes his future lies at Barcelona, meaning any move away from Camp Nou could require some convincing from Man United’s end.

For now, though, Balde is focusing on his recovery, looking to get back to the pitch within the next four-four weeks so he can be available during the final few matches of the season.

Balde’s recovery will also be crucial from the World Cup perspective, with the Barcelona star looking to become Spain’s number-one left-back.

Barcelona, meanwhile, have found Joao Cancelo as an ideal alternative for Balde, before he eventually returns to contention during the final stretch of the campaign.
