In a recent report, Fichajes mentioned that Manchester United have set their sights on Newcastle United star Sandro Tonali. It has been claimed that the Red Devils are eyeing a move to bring the Italy international to Old Trafford in the upcoming transfer window.
Tonali has enjoyed a decent run of form at the Tyneside club as he has produced a run of impressive displays for them at the centre of the park. The 25-year-old has found the back of the net three times and earned seven assists in 47 matches for Newcastle this season across all fronts.
The Italian talent is currently among the best central midfielders in the Premier League. Hence, it is no surprise that Man United are hoping to land Tonali this summer.
His current contract at St. James’ Park will run out in the summer of 2028, which could make it tough for the Red Devils to sign him on the cheap later this year.

Tonali is a solid tackler of the ball and can sense the danger well to earn the ball back for his team inside his half. He doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when needed and is a tidy passer as well.
The Italy international can even chip in by scoring and creating a few important goals for his team. Tonali is primarily a defensive midfielder but can also fill in as a box-to-box midfielder if asked to do so. He is already quite familiar with the Premier League and won’t take much time to adjust to life at the Mancunian club.
We can expect Tonali to add more bite and steel to Man United head coach Michael Carrick’s midfield. He has what it takes to fight for a regular first-team spot at Old Trafford next season.
At 25, Tonali has his peak years ahead of him, which makes him a decent choice for the Red Devils to consider later this year. He might even help Man United compete for some major trophies over the next few seasons. All in all, Carrick would be wise to move in for him this summer.
