Red Devils traverse the city to face their fierce rivals this weekend
Ruben Amorim’s side are back in action following the international break after their dramatic last-minute win over Burnley.
The Portuguese is still under pressure after United’s embarrassing League Cup defeat by Grimsby Town, and he will be hoping that his sidelined stars can return for the trip to the Etihad Stadium.
The Red Devils are looking to put two wins together after a 1-0 home loss to Arsenal and a 1-1 draw at Fulham in their opening two Premier League games.
Here, Standard Sport provides the latest Man Utd injury news and return dates ahead of a tricky run of fixtures that sees Amorim’s side face Chelsea and Brentford after their visit across the city.
United’s first big-money summer signing was hauled off in the first half of the Burnley win, replaced by Joshua Zirkzee.
The former Wolves forward had started up top but was withdrawn with a hamstring injury.
Amorim said afterwards that he did not know how serious the injury was, but stated that he “needed” Cunha “really badly to be competitive”.

Another that the United manager has said he needs, Mount was also a casualty against the Clarets.
He was taken off at half-time having “played 30 minutes with an injury,” Amorim confirmed.
The England international’s injury remains unknown, as does its severity.

The defender withdrew from Portugal’s squad over the recent international break with a ‘muscle discomfort’.
Dalot played the full 90 minutes against Burnley at left wing-back, with Patrick Dorgu on the bench.
Whether the full-back will be available for the Manchester derby burns down to a late fitness test.

There is more positive news, however, for Amorim as Martinez is edging closer to a return from his ACL injury.
The Argentine has been sidelined since February with the issue, but is now back training on the grass at Carrington.
