ESPN reports that Manchester United are interested in Ajax’s Mohammed Kudus and FC Utrecht’s Taylor Booth after failing to sign Mason Mount from Chelsea. United have had three bids for Mount rejected, with the latest offer reported to be worth around £55m. As negotiations appear to have stalled, United have turned their attention to other targets.
Ajax midfielder Mohammed Kudus and Utrecht’s Taylor Booth have been identified as alternatives to Mason Mount. Last season Kudus scored 18 goals and provided six assists in 42 appearances. The Ghanaian international was one of Ajax’s stand-out stars last season as the Dutch giants finished third in the Eredivisie. He’s currently valued at £40m. Kudus is under contract at the Johan Cruyff Arena until 2025 but he rejected a new deal in April. Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag managed Mohammed Kudus for two seasons at Ajax. It comes as no surprise that the 22-year-old attacking midfielder is Manchester United target.
USA international Taylor Booth is one of the hottest prospects in the Eredivisie at the moment. The 22-year-old former Bayern Munich academy midfielder is incredibly versatile. Last season he played all over the midfield and on both wings. Booth featured 28 times during the last campaign as Utrecht finished in seventh place. Both Booth and Kudus could be brilliant signings for United if the Mason Mount deal collapses.
