Loaned to Trabzonspor for a season, André Onana is expected to return to Manchester United in the summer of 2026. However, all indications suggest that the Cameroonian goalkeeper will not be staying at Old Trafford.

According to transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano, both sides "consider this chapter with Manchester United to be almost closed" and "it is very difficult to imagine André Onana staying beyond the 2025/26 season."

This situation is a result of the frustration left with the former Inter Milan goalkeeper by the way he was treated. The Red Devils are already planning for the future with Senne Lammens.

Since arriving in Turkey, the Indomitable Lion has played two matches, conceding two goals. He shone against Fenerbahçe with eight saves before providing an assist to Paul Onuachu against Gaziantep FK (1-1).
