Manchester United midfielder Vilde Bøe Risa has joined Spanish club Atlético Madrid ahead of the new season.

The Red Devils announced the news via a post on their official club website this morning.

Bøe Risa joined Manchester United from Norwegian club Sandviken in summer 2021. The player went on to make 44 appearances for The Red Devils and scored eight goals.

A lack of minutes was a problem for Bøe Risa during her time in England with the player making most for her appearances from the bench. Given her lack of game time, the midfielder has long been linked with a move away from Manchester United.

It has been reported that Bøe Risa has signed an initial one-year contract with new club Atlético Madrid. She will be hoping to play an important role for the Spanish side this season.

Two players have now left Manchester United in the last 24 hours. Canadian international forward Adriana Leon has also departed with the player joining Aston Villa on a permanent deal yesterday. The Red Devils look light on numbers and they may try to complete some deals in the transfer market before the window closes later this week. In total, 14 senior players have left Manchester United this summer.
