Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo took part in group training today and is in contention to face Chelsea, according to reports.
The Man United academy graduate did not feature against Leeds United on Monday night after picking up a knock in training last week.
Mainoo was part of the Red Devils squad which went to Ireland for a training camp, but he was not fit enough to face the Whites.
However, the England international could be available to face the Blues on Saturday and the coming hours will determine his availability.
Manuel Ugarte started alongside Casemiro against Leeds and the Man United Michael Carrick could do with Mainoo against the Blues.
The Red Devils boss will make the final decision over including the 20-year-old tomorrow.
Man United will be without the first-choice centre-back pairing of Harry Maguire and Lisandro Martinez against Chelsea due to suspension and will need their defensive midfield duo to constantly help out Leny Yoro and Ayden Heaven.
The Red Devils will be desperate to bounce back from their defeat to Leeds and having Mainoo available could be huge.
He had previously started all ten Premier League games under Carrick, with Man United winning seven of them.
The Old Trafford club remain third in the league table despite picking up one point in their last two games, but they need to return to winning ways to boost their chances of qualifying for the Champions League.
They take on Brentford, Liverpool, Sunderland, Nottingham Forest and Brighton & Hove Albion after the Chelsea game and will need a perfect end to the season to finish in the top-five.
Carrick needs his men to turn up and put in their very best to boost his chances of landing the job permanently, and a victory on Saturday would boost their morale.
