Manchester United plan on swapping Rasmus Hojlund for Napoli-owned striker | OneFootball

Manchester United have continuously been linked with Napoli-owned striker Victor Osimhen.

The Nigeria international is on loan at Galatasaray but is expected to leave the Turkish giants at the end of his loan term.

He is set to leave Napoli in the summer. His relationship with the Italian club has broken down, leading to his loan move to Galatasaray.

Napoli sporting director Giovanni Manna has confirmed that Osimhen has ‘a clause’ and the club are ‘working to find a solution’ to get him a new club.

While Man United are reportedly ready to pay his release clause, Calciomercato has suggested that the club could be open to swapping forward Rasmus Hojlund for the Nigerian.

Hojlund has ‘not convinced’ manager Ruben Amorim, and United are now willing to offer him plus £33 million to sign Osimhen.

Described as a ‘desirable player’ by Manna, Osimhen would be one of the most coveted strikers this summer, making it difficult for United to sign him.

Napoli are unlikely to accept a swap deal for Osimhen

Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis does not generally sell players for less than their transfer fee.

Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain tried signing Osimhen last summer but were put off by his huge transfer fee.

Osimhen’s release clause is reportedly around £66m, and Napoli are unlikely to sell for a lesser fee or accept a swap deal.

United would need to pay his release clause to secure his services this summer.

Napoli were linked with Hojlund before he joined United, but it is unclear whether they remain interested.
