Manchester City ace Rodri is also on the radar, while some young talents such as Kees Smit (AZ Alkmaar) and Adam Wharton (Crystal Palace) are also being considered.

Manchester United ready to go big on Wharton

However, in the case of Wharton, Real Madrid are set to face stiff competition from Premier League heavyweights Manchester United reports AS.

Indeed, as per the Spanish outlet, the Red Devils are intent on signing the Englishman and are prepared to offer around €100 million for his transfer.

Manchester United, set to bid goodbye to Casemiro and likely to sell Manuel Ugarte, are desperate for midfield reinforcements and seemingly see Wharton as a key target. So much so that they would be willing to splash nine-figure sum on his signing.

Real Madrid have sent scouts to watch the young Englishman in action in recent times and remain interested in his acquisition.

Wharton, for his part, is keen on leaving Selhurst Park at the end of the season and join a club competing at the highest level.

However, as things stand, Real Madrid have no intention of matching such an offer for the England international in the summer.

So, if Wharton wishes to move to the Santiago Bernabeu, he would have to convince Crystal Palace to reject other, potentially more lucrative offers and accept Real Madrid’s proposal.
