Manchester United are chasing a deal for Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo.
The Red Devils’ second bid worth £62.5 million for the 25-year-old was turned down by the Bees.
However, United are ready to increase their offer to land the talented winger, per Fabrizio Romano.
It is said that they are confident of wrapping up a move as discussions continue between the two clubs over the structure of the deal and bonuses.
Romano said on his Youtube channel: “Manchester United are ready to increase their offer for Bryan Mbeumo. It’s not just a question of compensation, but also of the structure of the deal and bonuses. United remains confident.”
Mbeumo has a year left on his contract at the Gtech Community Stadium, with Brentford having the option to extend it by 12 months.
He enjoyed his most productive season in 2024-25, bagging 20 goals and nine assists in 42 appearances across all competitions.
His excellent performances have caught the attention of Arsenal, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur, but the forward has made it clear he only wants to join United.
This is despite the fact that Ruben Amorim’s side will not be able to offer any form of European football next season after losing the Europa League final to Spurs and finishing 15th in the Premier League.
Brentford are said to be holding out for a £65m fee, but United plan to be disciplined and avoid overpaying for players in the market.
Given Mbeumo is keen and the gap in valuation is low, a compromise between the two clubs is expected to be agreed soon.
