Malick Diop believes Abubacarr Sedi Kinteh is ready to join a big club amidst interest from Manchester United.
Manchester United are always on the lookout for young players with massive potential, and they seem to have found a gem in the Norwegian top flight. The Red Devils are keen to sign Abubacarr Sedi Kinteh and are set to step up their pursuit of the Gambian international.
The Manchester-based giants have received a massive boost as Malick Diop, president of the Mawade Wade Academy, believes it’s time for the 19-year-old to join a top European club.
While speaking on Africa Foot, Diop said via SportWitness, “He’s a very athletic lad who anticipates challenges,” “Being athletic is one thing but knowing how to anticipate challenges puts you at ease. These qualities inevitably make him a difficult defender to handle. “It’s time for him to leave. There was already interest from clubs during the winter transfer window, but it wasn’t the ideal time for a young player, as there’s already an established squad and it’s not easy to break into the first team… “However, the best time is the summer. He’ll have time to adapt and establish himself.”
After coming up the ranks at the Wade Academy, the 19-year-old made the move to Norway in March last year. He has only gone from strength to strength since, and his impressive rise has caught the attention of quite a few top clubs.

Diop suggested there was interest in his services during the winter window as well, but it wasn’t the right time for him to move, as clubs already had established squads. However, he feels Kinteh should look to make the jump to a bigger European club in the summer, amidst interest from Manchester United.
While the Red Devils want to return to the top of English football as quickly as possible, they have a plan to build a team for the long run. The 19-year-old could prove to be a great long-term investment.
Manchester United are quite serious about their pursuit, as the report suggests their chiefs, Jason Wilcox and Omar Berrada, are set to travel to Norway to scout him. They are looking to move quickly to beat the competition to his signature.
