Manchester United are showing concrete interest in Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte (23). As reported by L’Équipe, the Premier League side have already seen one bid rejected, however, they are continuing their pursuit.

Ugarte joined PSG for a €60m fee from Sporting last summer, and despite initially thriving in Les Parisiens’ midfield, he slowly lost his place in the team under Luis Enrique. As the season progressed, he saw his minutes diminish, particularly in the UEFA Champions League.

It is thought that Luis Enrique sees Ugarte as too limited in possession, and as a result, PSG are not opposed to a departure this summer. Manchester United saw their first offer for Ugarte rejected, however, the Red Devils remain in talks over a move, according to Fabrizio Romano. Contact between the two clubs was renewed on Friday, with PSG looking to recoup most of the €60m that they spent on the midfielder last summer.

The Uruguay international, who is garnering interest from other clubs, is open to joining Manchester United this summer, despite the lack of Champions League football at Old Trafford.
