Manchester United are scouting RB Leipzig midfielder Assan Ouedraogo ahead of the summer transfer window, according to Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg.
They want reinforcements in the middle of the park, with Casemiro likely to leave at the end of the season.
The Red Devils have been linked with a couple of midfielders in recent months, and Ouedraogo has caught their attention.
The 19-year-old Germany international is ‘built for the Premier League‘, and he has ‘remarkable technical ability‘ that Man United could do with.
Ouedraogo is also a brilliant passer who loves to drop deep, and he could be the perfect replacement for Casemiro.
The teenager has bagged three goals and four assists in 12 appearances across all competitions for the Bundesliga club this term.
Man United are not the only Premier League club keen on Ouedraogo. Chelsea have also been linked, although they are well stocked in the centre of the park.
He is keen on making the German squad for the 2026 World Cup, and starting games at the tournament will put him on the radar of other clubs.
Man United were unable to sign Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Carlos Baleba last summer due to the excessive fee.
Crystal Palace star Adam Wharton and Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson are also on their radar, but none of them will come cheaply either.
However, Ouedraogo will not cost as much, which should allow the Red Devils to strengthen their squad.
