Wolves boss Vitor Pereira insists that Matheus Cunha is “happy” at Molineux as speculation over a high-profile move to Manchester United continues to rapidly intensify.

The latest reports from Sky Sports on Monday afternoon suggested that a deal for the Brazilian forward to complete a long-rumoured transfer to Old Trafford was now almost agreed and would be officially completed once the current Premier League season ends next weekend, with Wolves travelling to face FA Cup winners Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Tuesday night before then finishing the campaign at home to Brentford on Sunday.

United are said to have advanced in their efforts to sign Cunha in the last couple of days, with the player keen to make the move on a long-term deal.

The 25-year-old was also heavily linked with a move away from Molineux in January amid rumoured interest from United, Arsenal and Tottenham, though ended up signing a new four-and-a-half year contract until 2029 that is believed to have included a release clause worth £62.5million.

Pereira insists he knows nothing of a potentially imminent exit for Cunha, whom he insists remains committed to Wolves after joining from Atletico Madrid initially on loan in January 2023 and going on to score 33 goals in 90 total appearances across all competitions, including 17 during an eventful campaign in which he has missed six matches through suspension to help Wolves to secure Premier League safety.

"I have the same information as you,” Pereira said at his pre-Palace press conference on Monday. “I don't know. I just know he's my player.

“He's committed with the team, he's working with happiness and we will see what happens. You must ask him. He is happy. I feel he is happy.”
