The 25-year-old’s time at Old Trafford appears to be nearing its end after a challenging two seasons in England.

Signed by former manager Erik ten Hag, Ugarte has consistently struggled to adapt to the Premier League.

His standing within the squad has diminished significantly under manager Michael Carrick.

Ugarte made just eight Premier League starts this season and failed to play a single minute in the final six matches.

With United actively restructuring their midfield – highlighted by the impending £39m arrival of Atalanta powerhouse Ederson – they are eager to clear Ugarte’s wages from the books.

The United hierarchy acknowledges that Ugarte’s decline makes him a difficult asset to market, and the club is open to a structured deal, including a loan with an obligation to buy.

Turkish giants Galatasaray have emerged as the front-runners for his signature, with club president Dursun Ozbek ready to back a significant financial package.

Ugarte has reportedly given the green light to a move to Istanbul, where the chance to anchor the midfield alongside international teammate Lucas Torreira could revive his career.
