Manchester United have completed the signing of midfielder Rebeca Bernal on a three-year deal.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Red Devils this evening.

The 29-year-old midfielder joins Manchester United following a spell playing for American National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) club Washington Spirit. Bernal joined Spirit ahead of the 2025 NWSL season and she went on to win the Challenge Cup with the club. She previously played her football back home in her native Mexico with Rayadas de Monterrey.

On the international stage, Bernal has been capped by Mexico on 78 occasions while she has scored nine goals. The midfielder is currently captain of her national team.

After sealing her move to Manchester United, Bernal said “I have experienced a lot of special moments in my career; the privilege of representing Manchester United is truly incredible.

“It is clear that I am joining a great environment, Eva [Olid] is an excellent coach, and you can see the determination throughout the whole squad to be successful.

“I cannot wait to begin this new chapter; to give everything, bringing all of my experience and passion, to help push the team and fight together to achieve our ambitions.”

Bernal is Manchester United’s third signing of the summer transfer window.
