Manu Koné could leave Roma. During the World Cup, the French midfielder attracted the attention of several major clubs, including Manchester United, who are on a hot transfer streak.
After closing in on Santos and Tielemans, the English club is now looking for a defensive midfielder to complete Michael Carrick’s squad.
Rio Ferdinand posted on his YouTube channel yesterday: “Manchester United have reached an agreement with Roma for around £45 million.”
Manu Koné’s agents and Manchester United CEO Omar Berrada have an excellent relationship, which is a significant factor.
As Fabrizio Romano reports, the English club has initiated discussions with the Frenchman’s entourage in recent days.
The Red Devils, however, have not yet submitted an offer to Roma.
The situation must be monitored because Manchester United changed their approach this summer and demonstrated extreme speed and directness in negotiations, as demonstrated with Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans. The English club has also explored other prospects in addition to Koné, including Camavinga, who, however, would like to remain at Real Madrid.
