Manchester United have taken up the option to extend forward Nikita Parris’ contract by a further year.

The Red Devils announced the news via a post on their official club website this morning.

Parris was set to be out of contract at the Leigh Sports Village this summer but Manchester United have triggered an extension to keep her at the club until at least the end of the upcoming campaign.

The 30-year-old joined Manchester United from Arsenal in summer 2022. Parris has gone on to score 12 goals in 42 outings for The Red Devils in the Barclays Women’s Super League. The player won the Adobe Women’s FA Cup with the club last season.

Parris is playing some of the best football that she has played for a number of years and the player will be hoping for a successful season in 2024/2025.

After retaining Parris’ services for another year, Manchester United head coach Marc Skinner said “Nikita said to me when she first came in that she wanted to play with a fire in her belly and it was going to take time.

“I think she is performing that way perfectly. She’s one of the top scorers, she is on fire at the minute and credit to her, she’s a real leader in the team.”

Parris is the first player to have her contract extended at Manchester United during the close season.
