His agent Jorge Mendes is reportedly working to find him a new club before the end of the summer transfer window

Balde was instrumental in Barcelona’s success last season. He made 42 appearances across all competitions, helping his side win the La Liga title and the Supercopa de Espana.

But the 22-year-old is not part of Hansi Flick’s future plans and first-team opportunities are going to be limited for him this season.

Balde’s decision has seemingly opened the door for Man United to sign him this summer.

The Red Devils are seeking a new left-back. Tyrell Malacia has left on a free transfer and Patrick Dorgu plays on the left wing.

Luke Shaw is currently their first-choice left-back, and they look to bring someone to share his workload.

United view Newcastle United’s Lewis Hall as an ideal target, but the 21-year-old is expected to stay at St James’ Park.

Hall has entered new contract talks with Newcastle, who have offered him a role within the leadership team under manager Matthias Jaissle.

Balde is a brilliant option for United. The Spain international is only 22 but has made 168 senior appearances for Barcelona

He is renowned for his blistering pace, dribbling skills and ball-carrying ability.
