Manchester United were all smiles this weekend after a 2-0 victory over Sunderland. Making his debut for the Red Devils, young Belgian goalkeeper Senne Lammens kept a clean sheet—a performance that didn't go unnoticed by club legend Peter Schmeichel.
Appearing on Monday Night Club, the former Danish shot-stopper took the opportunity to congratulate Lammens while also delivering a pointed jab at his predecessors, André Onana and Altay Bayındır:
In recent years, we've conceded far too many goals because of goalkeeper errors. Just this season, there have already been nine—it's a huge number.
Schmeichel then praised the young Belgian's display:
This kid didn't have too much to do, but he handled the moments when he had the ball at his feet perfectly.
