Manchester United are weighing up a move for Leeds United goalkeeper Karl Darlow this summer, The Athletic reports. The 35-year-old is set to become a free agent when his deal expires at the end of June.

He has emerged as a candidate for a backup role at Old Trafford, with United seeking an experienced keeper to add competition and cover.

Darlow impressed late in the campaign, stepping in for Lucas Perri as first choice midway through the season, and is highly regarded at Elland Road.

United’s interest has prompted Leeds to act, with the West Yorkshire club expected to offer fresh terms to keep him.

Darlow has 15 caps for Wales, has cemented his place as Craig Bellamy’s number one choice, and has enjoyed a revival over the past 18 months.

United currently rely on Senne Lammens as their first-choice goalkeeper, while 40-year-old Tom Heaton signed a new one-year deal last week.

Altay Bayındır and Andre Onana also feature, with the latter spending last season on loan in Türkiye with Trabzonspor.
