Manchester United have no intention of letting Amad Diallo leave this summer amid talk of Sunderland interest, TEAMtalk reports.
It is suggested the winger remains central to United’s long-term plans after his role shifted following Michael Carrick’s arrival at Old Trafford.
Diallo, 23, was a standout during his 2022-23 loan on Wearside, scoring 14 goals and providing four assists in all competitions.
He finished as Sunderland’s top scorer and delivered a memorable Stadium of Light free-kick against Luton Town in the play-off semi-final.
His bond with the club endures, with home fans saluting him during United’s recent visit, a Roker End banner reading "Welcome home, Amad", and a standing ovation on his substitution.
That affection, combined with Sunderland’s return to the Premier League, has prompted speculation over a fresh approach.
Diallo signed a new contract in January 2025 to keep him at Old Trafford until June 2030, with an option for a further year.
