Manchester United are keeping tabs on Norwegian wonderkid Gabriel Rajkovic, while Alejandro Balde could still emerge as an option for the Premier League giants in the coming months.
According to TEAMtalk, Manchester United are among the clubs monitoring the 15-year-old winger, who has already attracted attention from some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
Rajkovic has made a remarkable breakthrough at such a young age, having already featured for Valerenga’s senior side. He became the youngest player to appear in the Norwegian top flight when he made his debut earlier this year.
The teenager can play on either flank as well as centrally, and his technical ability and physical presence have made him an attractive prospect for several top clubs.
Arsenal, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Liverpool are also believed to be monitoring his development, so Manchester United could face considerable competition if they decide to make a formal approach.
Meanwhile, United remain linked with Barcelona left-back Balde.
United considered the Spain international during the summer, but a move failed to materialise because Barcelona wanted a permanent transfer rather than a loan.
Balde remains happy at Barcelona but could consider his future if he continues to struggle for regular first-team football. Manchester United could therefore revisit the situation during the season.
The club are also delighted with Kobbie Mainoo’s progress under Michael Carrick. The midfielder has gone from being close to leaving on loan to becoming an important part of United’s plans.
Mainoo has signed a new contract and is now regarded as an important player for the present and future. It remains to be seen whether United make further moves for Balde or Rajkovic, but both situations will be worth keeping an eye on.
