After a goalless first-half at the Carrington Training Centre, Newcastle's youngsters conceded twice in the space of seven minutes following Douka Nkoto Abdoulaye's quick-fire brace.

Noah Ajayi extended the Red Devils' advantage in the closing stages as Chris Moore's side suffered a first league defeat since October, with the Toon teenagers aiming to return to winning ways when hosting their Middlesbrough counterparts on Saturday, 13th December at the Magpies' Little Benton Academy (kick-off 11am GMT).

Newcastle United's under-18s are also in FA Youth Cup action on Tuesday, 16th December when hosting Portsmouth in the third round stage at Whitley Park (kick-off 6pm GMT).
