Manchester United aiming to record a fourth straight home win under Michael Carrick

Manchester United will look to lay down another marker in the Champions League race when they host Crystal Palace at the weekend.

Man Utd played after their rivals for a top-four finish during matchweek 27, but took full advantage of Chelsea’s draw against Burnley by beating Everton to open up a three-point lead in fourth.

Benjamin Sesko’s second half strike was enough for victory on Merseyside as Man United extended their unbeaten run in the Premier League to ten matches.

Six of those games have come under Michael Carrick’s watch with the head coach picking up 16 points from a possible 18 since being appointed until the end of the season.

Crystal Palace, meanwhile, are into the Conference League round of 16 after beating Zrinjski Mostar 3-1 on aggregate, though their domestic form has been patch to say the least.

Date, kick-off time and venue

Manchester United vs Crystal Palace is scheduled for a 2pm GMT kick-off on Sunday, March 1, 2026.

The match will take place at Old Trafford.

Manchester United vs Crystal Palace team news

Michael Carrick could reward Benjamin Sesko with a start after the striker scored the winner against Everton as a substitute, taking his tally to three goals in his last four appearances.

Sesko may replace Bryan Mbeumo in the starting line-up after the forward hobbled off late on at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

That said, if the Cameroon international is passed fit, then Amad Diallo is perhaps the Man United attacker most at risk of making way for the in-form Sesko.

Mason Mount is also a doubt but Matthijs de Ligt - who has not featured since the 2-1 win at Selhurst Park in the reverse fixture back in November - remains sidelined along with Patrick Dorgu and Lisandro Martinez.

Palace, meanwhile, suffered no fresh injury worries in their Conference League win on Thursday.

Maxence Lacroix made a goalscoring return from injury at Selhurst Park, notching the opener in the 2-0 win.

Otherwise, it is the same absentees. Jean-Philippe Mateta continues to be sidelined with a knee problem, while Jefferson Lerma and Eddie Nketiah nurse hamstring issues, and Cheick Doucoure is out long term.

Manchester United vs Crystal Palace prediction

This is a must-win fixture for Manchester United, especially with a trip to St James’ Park on the horizon as they could put some distance between themselves and Chelsea who face Arsenal at the Emirates later on Sunday.

United, due to no involvement in Europe or domestic cup competitions, will be the fresher of the two sides and we expect them to overcome a Palace team that played on Thursday night.

Manchester United to win, 2-0.

Head to head (h2h) history and results

Man United’s 2-1 win in the reverse fixture was their first victory over Palace in five attempts. Interestingly, the Eagles have won on their last two visits to Old Trafford.
