Ruben Amorim looking to build on first win as Premier League returns
Manchester United host Everton in the Premier League this afternoon as Ruben Amorim eyes a quickfire second victory in charge.
The 39-year-old saw his side overcome Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League on Thursday night, running out 3-2 winners after a Rasmus Hojlund brace.
While perhaps not the most convincing performance, it was important for Amorim to win his first home in charge of the Red Devils. It’s natural that the team would take a while to adapt to his system but failing to win the games United will be expected to would still be a huge disappointment.
The same would be said for Sunday’s game. While it would be foolish to expect United to click into top gear, not claiming three points at home would have to be seen as a blow.
Sean Dyche’s side have won only one of their six away games all season, scoring just five goals.

Amorim is expected to make changes to Thursday’s team. The United boss revealed Hojlund looked “dead” on his feet following the game, while Luke Shaw and Lisandro Martinez could be eased into action after injuries of late.
Bruno Fernandes may start in a deeper role again. The United boss is also unsure whether Leny Yoro, Harry Maguire, Jonny Evans and Victor Lindelof will return in time.
Everton could hand Armando Broja a debut, though the game will come too soon for Youssef Chermiti, Seamus Coleman, James Garner and Tim Iroegbunam.
