Manchester United welcome PAOK to Old Trafford on Thursday night in search of their first win of the European season.
Three consecutive draws have left the Red Devils with ground to make up in the Europa League. Ruud van Nistelrooy will take charge of the side for the penultimate time, ahead of Ruben Amorim’s arrival as head coach next week.
Van Nistelrooy has so far guided the side into the Carabao Cup quarter-finals with a 5-2 win over Leicester and to a draw with Chelsea during his spell as interim boss.
This will be Manchester United’s first meeting with PAOK, who sit second in the Greek Super League. The visitors are without a win in the Europa League this season, drawing one and losing two of their opening three fixtures.
PAOK will have a familiar face in their ranks as Shola Shoretire makes his first return to Manchester United. The 20-year-old signed for PAOK from the Red Devils on a free transfer in the summer.
Manchester United’s injury list is beginning to look healthier with Mason Mount in contention to feature after returning to training.
Leny Yoro is also back with the main group, though the clash with PAOK will come too soon for the Frenchman. The summer signing from Lille is yet to debut after picking up a foot problem in pre-season.
Tyrell Malacia has also returned to light work, though a cautious approach will be taken with the Dutchman who has missed 18 months of action. There could be a debut for 17-year-old Harry Amass at left-back.
Kobbie Mainoo, Luke Shaw and Harry Maguire remain out as the England internationals continue their respective rehabilitations.
Manchester United predicted XI: Bayindir; Mazraoui, Lindelof, Evans, Amass; Casemiro, Ugarte; Amad, Fernandes, Rashford, Zirkzee.
Manchester United host PAOK in the Europa League on Thursday 7th November 2024. Kick-off at Old Trafford is 20:00 GMT.
Manchester United vs PAOK will be broadcast on TNT Sports 2 to a UK audience. Subscribers can stream via the Discovery+ app.
