Manchester United are keen on signing Porto attacker William Gomes this summer, according to Spanish outlet AS.
Atletico Madrid, Arsenal, AS Roma and Newcastle United are also monitoring the 20-year-old Brazilian.
He has an €80 million release, but Man United and other suitors can sign him for less.
They have been impressed with his performances in the Primeira Liga, with the ‘powerful shot’ of the ‘magician’ one of his major strengths.
Gomes’ speed, dribbling and technique are also blowing scouts away, and United have enquired about his availability.
However, no offer has been made, and Porto are hoping to hold on to him for one more season.
He notched 13 goals and two assists in 46 matches across all competitions this season, winning the league title with his club.
Gomes can play on both wings, but he prefers the right flank, which allows him to cut inside onto his left foot before aiming at goal.
His defensive contribution is excellent for an attacker, and Man United could also do with his long shots and finishing.
Manager Michael Carrick wants to challenge for the Premier League title next season, and he needs quality attackers to get the job done.
A move to the English top-flight could appeal to Gomes as he strives to boost his chances of forcing his way into the Brazilian national team.
