Manchester United: Will André Onana make a comeback?

Cast aside by Manchester United this summer, André Onana is rediscovering his form in Turkey. On loan at Trabzonspor for the season, the Cameroonian goalkeeper has made a promising start with two clean sheets in four appearances.

Replaced in the pecking order by Altay Bayindir, who has been preferred for Premier League matches, Onana featured only once under Rúben Amorim, during the Red Devils’ League Cup elimination at the hands of Grimsby Town. Eager for more playing time ahead of the 2026 World Cup, the 29-year-old shot-stopper embraced the Turkish challenge.

While Trabzonspor is already impressed with his performances, the club has yet to decide whether they will activate the option for a permanent transfer at the end of the season. Meanwhile, Manchester United, now looking to the future with Senne Lammens, appears to have closed the Onana chapter for good. Stay tuned.
