Ruben Amorim should get two key fitness boosts for trip to Molineux
Manchester United should receive a double defensive injury boost for tonight’s trip to face Wolves in the Premier League.
Matthijs de Ligt missed the 1-1 draw with West Ham at Old Trafford on Thursday evening with a “minor knock". Teenager Ayden Heaven deputised at the back but struggled in the first half, picking up a yellow card, before being replaced at the break.
Ruben Amorim is hopeful that De Ligt will return at Molineux, and is similarly positive about Diogo Dalot.
The full-back put United into the lead against the Hammers with his first goal in over 18 months, but soon after had to be withdrawn after signalling to the bench that he had picked up an issue.
Asked for an update on the pair after the West Ham game, Amorim said he "thinks" they will be available, adding: "We'll see."
Leny Yoro is also pushing for a start after coming off the bench on Thursday.
Matheus Cunha is expected to start against his former club, after making his return from injury last time out. He should partner Bryan Mbeumo in attack, while a decision needs to be made over Joshua Zirkzee.
The striker scored against Crystal Palace but was fairly anonymous against West Ham, which could see Mbeumo move centrally or Mason Mount return in a false nine role.
United remain without Benjamin Sesko due to a knee injury, while Harry Maguire is still sidelined with a hamstring issue.
Predicted Manchester United XI (3-4-3): Lammens; Mazraoui, Yoro, Shaw; Amad, Casemiro, Fernandes, Dalot; Mbeumo, Cunha; Zirkzee
Doubts: De Ligt, Dalot
Injured: Sesko, Maguire
Time and date: 8pm GMT today on Monday December 8, 2025
Venue: Molineux, Wolverhampton
