Manchester United youngsters enjoyed a mixed Saturday afternoon of action.
Accrington Stanley’s Sonny Aljofree suffered a disappointing 2-0 home loss to Salford City.
The 19 year old played all 90 minutes and made an incredible 14 clearances.
He put in an imperious performance winning all three of his ground duels and four out of five of his aerial battles.
Aljofree also made three tackles and completed one interception.
The only flaw in his performance was he struggled to get on the ball, making only nine of 17 passes.
Fellow academy centre back Rhys Bennett was also in action for Fleetwood Town.
After a long spell out of the team he has played in the last four games and played the entirety of the 2-0 loss away to Barrow.
He made four clearances and had two blocked shots as he helped his side stay in the game.
Bennett won five out of eight of his aerial duels but was not so effective on the ground, winning just two out of six ground battles.
He also had 54 touches of the ball, making 18 out of 30 passes in the match.
The 21 year old will be disappointed with his long passing game though, as he could only connect with two out of his 10 attempts.
Youth team keeper Elyh Harrison played another full game for Chester as his side drew 1-1 at home to King’s Lynn Town.
The youngster put in a good showing and was only beaten by a close range header that he could do little about.
The only United man to taste victory was James Nolan, whose Inverness Caledonian Thistle side beat Stenhousemuir 1-0 away from home.
The 19 year old also played the 90 minutes from his usual right back spot.
