Roma made a forced substitution just after halftime in their Europa League match against Midtjylland: Gasperini and the Roma fans are hoping Manu Kone isn’t suffering from anything serious.
Substituted in the 27th minute, the midfielder had been kicked about ten minutes earlier. After trying to overcome the pain in his ankle, he threw in the towel and left the match early.
According to Angelo Mangiante of Sky Sport, the number 17 was treated with ice to his ankle. It’s currently unclear whether it’s a sprain or a simple bruise. The player returned to the locker room with a noticeable limp.
Further tests are scheduled for tomorrow.
Mangiante said he spoke with the player, who confirmed he’s feeling better: the fear has passed, the pain has diminished, and he expects to be fit for Sunday’s match against Napoli.
