Manu Silva is intensifying his work during the summer break as he prepares for a return to competition with Benfica after a serious left knee injury.

According to Glorioso 1904, his individual programme already includes specialist oversight and involvement of club-linked staff, with coach Pedro Martins assisting to lift his physical and competitive levels.

The 24-year-old defensive midfielder ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in February 2025, which kept him out for months. He returned in November with minutes in a Champions League match against Ajax, though continuity was lacking.

He posted training images with his younger brother and said he was doing 10 tackles a day on Luís Silva, highlighting the daily effort behind his recovery.

Benfica signed him from Vitória SC for about 12 million euros fixed, plus a further 2 million in variables, and he is under contract until 2030.

Although he featured late last term, he did not fully convince the previous coaching staff. The new campaign offers a fresh chance to stake his claim.
